Opening in spring 2025 in Alexandria, Virginia, the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus is a place where you can gain hands-on experience working with industry and government to tackle real problems, accelerate your impact, and supercharge your career from day one.

The Innovation Campus has made its home at 3625 Potomac Ave on 3.5 acres in the 19-acre first phase of a new mixed-use development and innovation district in North Potomac Yard near the Potomac Yard-VT Metrorail Station.

On Friday morning, Feb. 28th, 2025, join us for the official Innovation Campus Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting! This event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Regina Dugan, president and CEO of Wellcome Leap and two-time Virginia Tech alumna, alongside government officials, university leaders, and other notable guests.

Located adjacent to the nation’s capital in Alexandria, Virginia, the Innovation Campus unites industry, government, and academia in dynamic project-based learning and research to shape the way knowledge and emerging technologies influence society, driving a new era for the greater Washington D.C., metro area’s innovation economy.

With spectacular views of the Washington DC area, the Alexandria-based ICAB1 also houses graduate programs in computer science, and computer engineering. The co-location of these disciplines will now foster greater collaboration among academia, industry and government.

Starting Dec. 1, 2024, Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students will have the option to purchase a pro-rated 2024-2025 annual parking permit for the Innovation Campus Academic Building One in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Virginia Tech Innovation Campus will open to students in Alexandria in approximately one year. Hundreds of graduate students will start classes at the 11-story, 300,000-square-foot Academic Building One in fall 2024. With the countdown on, construction crews continue to make major progress toward this goal.
