2019年11月25日 · I really like the idea of using equipment that I assembled myself, so I'm considering building the VTA SP14 preamp next to drive my ST70. I have seen a few positive reviews of the SP14 but not nearly as much information online as the ST70 kit. Does anyone have thoughts or experience with the SP14, especially in kit form?

2017年4月8日 · Well, a week ago I could resist the urge no longer and finally took the plunge and ordered a "plug-n-play" VTA SP14 (Tubes4Hifi). The unit arrived just two nights ago, intact with not a scratch due to the careful packaging of the component.

2020年7月3日 · After a break-in of several hundred hours, I have to say this is an excellent sounding preamp and recommended for anyone with an interest in a new tubed preamp. All things considered, the price/performance ratio for these units is very good. It can be purchased in both kit form just north of $1k, or pre-assembled at an additional cost.

2018年7月28日 · any thoughts on a VTA sp14 for about $1,000 or a shiit freya preamp for $700? I would be using it with a hafler 500 that has been restored with new caps and dahlquist dq10s or dq20s with the thought of buying a pair of magnepan .7 or 1.7s in the fall.

2020年1月24日 · I got the VTA SP14 yesterday, and just now getting to pull myself away for a premature review. So far all I can say is WOW. Whats it really going to sound like when broken in? Im already ecstatic on how it sounds now right out of the box. Beats the Jolida that I am comparing it with, makes the Jolida sound like a transistor radio.

The SP14 preamp, which includes the film cap, precision resistor, and Mundorf Silver/Oil coupling cap upgrades as well as an upgraded case is about four months old, and has been trouble free. The assembled list price is $1,635 for the preamp, a bargain at that.

2019年2月16日 · I opted to upgrade the standard SP14 to the Khozmo design which incorporates a digital display and remote control. I also upgraded the output caps to the Muldorf’s and went with the NOS Sylvania tubes.
