With it's 50th birthday approaching in December, GP38-2 202 steps out of the North Walpole shop in fresh paint. Both the 201 and 202 were bought new from EMD by the VTR in December of 1972.

VTR 202 VTR 202 was one of the locomotives that the Vermont Railway ordered new from the builder back in their early days. Constructed by EMD in 1974, it arrived in Vermont in VTR's classy red and white paint scheme and was soon put to work on the railroad's freight trains over the old Rutland line between Burlington, Rutland, and Bennington.
