VW Diesel Particulate Filter. Help! - Pilots of America
2005年2月28日 · Yikes. Our 2010 Jetta TDI has had an engine light come on at 98,000 miles. Our son took it to a VW dealer and was told that the DPF needed replacing, and that it would cost $3,200.00 !!!! Looking into this on the internet, it looks …
Need a source for a 1981 Trans Am Water Temp Gauge
2018年8月8日 · Aren't classic muscle cars fun? I barely got the Trans Am back after having the choke solenoid and the alternator replaced on my Trans Am, after adding LiveWires spark plug wires and ignition module, after updating the transmission and putting an Flowmaster exhaust, when the water temperature...
[NA-ish] Experimental vehicles - Pilots of America
2019年7月17日 · Back in the 70's when I was growing up, kit cars were way more common. The VW beetle was the platform of choice. It was dirt cheap, mechanically simple, and infinitely moddable. Remember Baha bugs? Bricklin? But except for really specialized applications like racing, it just doesn't make sense to fabricate from the ground up.

2005年10月25日 · It's like buying a Diesel VW Golf and expecting it to work as a replacement for a 2000HP prime mover in a locomotive. And when it fails complaining that it is a piece of junk. Regular use is not the same thing as revenue generating heavy duty use.
Horizontally Opposed Engines... - Pilots of America
2010年5月6日 · ...for you AMT's and Engineer types, a question. Is there a specific reason(or reasons) that opposed engines are preferred for use in aircraft? Is it just that the shape works better, or is there something about the direction of force on the crankshaft?? Something else?
Teenie Two - Pilots of America
2009年9月2日 · The Teenie Two was a development of the Jeanie's Teenie. The Teenie was a killer, and the Two was only a little better. The Hummelbird gets its ancestry from the Two, via the Windwagon, and Bruce King's BK-1 is a development of the Hummelbird. If the Two project is 50% done, that means there's 90% to go. And who knows what questionable workmanship you'll find in it? Better to build the BK-1 if ...
Airdrome Aeroplanes Nieuport 24 - Pilots of America
2011年8月15日 · Most of those guys are flying Graham Lee 7/8 scale Nieuports with either VW or Rotax engines which is a big reason why the prop turns the other way. The Airdrome Nieuports are full scale, and typically use Rotec radials. Much more powerful and better performance, but I've heard they can be a bit squirrelly. There is a guy in the area (retired Naval Aviator) who built an Airdrome Nieuport with ...
Pilots with Sonex experience - Talk me out of (or in to) a Sonex
2018年10月8日 · I was looking for an aircraft carb to use on the VW Sonex and considered a small Marvel Schebler or Stromberg from an engine of similar displacement. Some were using Zenith carbs but the jury was out on how well those might have performed.
