VX-4, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Four (AIRTEVRON FOUR), commonly referred to by its nickname of The Evaluators, was a United States Navy air test and evaluation squadron based at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, California.

History: 15 May 1946: established as Air Development Squadron 4 (VX-4); June 1952: redesignated Airborne Early Warning Squadron 2 (VW-2). 25 September 1952: established as VX-4; 30 September 1994: disestablished.

The F-14A Tomcat arrived in the '70s and recently VX-4 has added the F/A-18 and newer F-14 variants. Latest operational test and evaluation of airborne fighter weapons systems included AIM-7M Sparrow, AIM-9M Sidewinder, and AIM-54C Phoenix missiles, radar warning devices, and self-protection jammers.
