I interpreted the Vaapad mindset as allowing the user to enjoy the rush and thrill of a fight, and to use that emotion to fuel their fighting.

Vaapad's superconducting loop improves on Juyo, allowing the user a defense, and potentially enabling them to go toe-to-toe with more powerful opponents. -The Jedi Path book states that Juyo is one of the few things that can breach a Form III user's defense, so I wouldn't call Form III the perfect counter to it.
