2008年6月12日 · To defeat Vamp, I would recommend (if you have it) using the Automatic Shotgun. This can easily deplete his health. You can use any weapon though, even a Handgun, but the stronger it is, the faster it will go. HINT: You can even use a Handgun and shoot him directly in the head, but that might not work 8/10 times.

Right at the start of the fight, Vamp hovers over the water for a few seconds without doing anything. Take this opportunity to get a headshot in with the M9 (tranq gun). Now switch the M9 for an assault rifle like the M4 or the AK.

Looking down all the corridors at some beast, and if he sees you and just rockets towards you, you know you're in some deep shit. Running away from him in that dark alley-infested area gave me some of the most adrenaline-filled moments of any MGS boss.

The point of these little tricks in MGS is being given the agency to use the means and resources at your disposal, with a little bit of guidance that doesn't blatantly spell it out for you. The Vamp gimmick is unique but lacks a reasonable level of accessibility.
