Vertical frown lines, also known as worry lines or glabellar lines, are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. They are caused by the forehead muscles squeezing inward as you furrow your brows. Frowning and squinting contract the muscles between your eyebrows and in your forehead, and over time this repeated action can cause permanent wrinkles. The movement is generated by two major muscles: the corrugator supercilii and the procerus.
