2020年3月21日 · Notably missing was VGHAX from the comparison tool. All of the funds in the comparison had significantly better performance than VGHAX. I did note that the Benchmark for FSPHX was the MSCI IMI Health Care 25/50 Index while the Benchmark for VGHAX is the Spliced Health Care Index or also referred to as the MSCI All Country World Health Care Index.

2020年12月2日 · You can trade money directly from VGHAX or VGHCX into it, or from any other fund you hold in your account you want to hold the new Health ETF (VHT) or Admiral Share Mutual Fund (VHCIX) in. What is confusing about Health Index funds in Vanguard, is the Investor Share fund is an ETF and the Admiral Share fund is a regular Mutual Fund.

2013年11月26日 · There is a difference between VHT and the actively managed fund, VGHAX, besides the expense ratios. VHT holds 98.5% domestic companies. VGHAX holds is only 73% domestic companies so the later has a bigger slice of foreign stocks. By the way a REIT fund is not going to do the same job as a health care fund, they are like comparing apples to oranges.

2018年2月1日 · I have VGHAX [Vanguard Health Care Fund Admiral] too and also VFIAX (S&P 500 Admiral). VFIAX has $100k more in unrealized cap gains than VGHAX does. I do not reinvest cap gains. I realize most would say to sell VGHAX over VFIAX... but I'd hate to lose all my remaining loss carryforwards which would happen if I sell VFIAX.

The health care sector as a whole has underperformed the S&P 500 over the last five years, and, for many investors, that is a reason for investing in health care.

2020年1月14日 · The difference between VHT and VGHAX is foreign equities. The index fund holds nothing in Foreign equities while the active fund has 30% allocated to them. This alone could make the performance results vastly different during short time periods.

I know the primary advisor for VGHAX has retired and that is a motivator for thinking about this switch.
