How to make Vicious Mockery do more damage : r/BaldursGate3
My last run did exactly this. I was a Deep Gnome 8 Swords Bard/4 Thief Rogue, I used the Resonance stone, the Potent Robe, and the Ring of the Mystic Scoundrel. As long as I make one weapon attack, I can use my two bonus actions to cast Vicious Mockery. Resonance Stone causes psychic to hit for 2x on most enemies.

The spell itself is not an opinion-effecting spell - it is a damage and debuff spell. You can see this in the tags on dndbeyond and note that it does not carry the social tag.

Tbh, I made it myself. I’d be happy to post it, but it does make a bard’s real vicious mockery less powerful. (I wanted to create new spells based on vicious mockery, but it seems that the audio aspect of vicious mockery’s insults are based on the spell name. The only thing I could get to work was overriding properties of the real spell.)

2023年10月7日 · Using Vicious Mockery is a blast when you’ve got one final enemy left with just a handful of HP and the bard’s turn is up. Sure, you could just arrow or stab or fire bolt, but insulting the enemy to death is just the perfect cherry on top of the encounter.
