Since 1994, Vicco von Voss has been living and working on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, using locally salvaged trees to produce one-of-a-kind, contemporary furniture designs.

Its cells breathe, its limbs continually reach towards the light, and in a act of gratitude and grace, vibrant colors are reflected back to the heavens during seasonal cycles. Within the “fabric of its being”, each tree tells its own story.

Vico von Voss is a German-born, Maryland-based maker of custom furniture. He has also built for his family this amazing house, which uses no nails; the whole thing is held together with wooden pegs and dovetailing. Voss is a great lover of wood and used many different kinds in the construction; he says that in building he lets the wood guide him.
