The Battle of Vigo Bay, also known as the Battle of Rande (Galician: Batalla de Rande; Spanish: Batalla de Rande), was a naval engagement fought on 23 October 1702 during the opening years of the War of the Spanish Succession.

Vigo (Galician: [ˈbiɣʊ], locally [ˈbiħʊ]; Spanish: [ˈbiɣo] ⓘ) is a city and municipality in the province of Pontevedra, within the autonomous community of Galicia, Spain. Located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, it sits on the southern shore of an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, the Ria de Vigo, the southernmost of the Rías Baixas.

In 1702, the opening year of the War of Spanish Succession, a powerful fleet of Anglo-Dutch warships was assembled under Admiral Sir George Rooke, as Commander-in-Chief, to attack and capture Cadiz. Some footholds were gained near the city but after six weeks of vacillation the allied fleet retired ignominiously on 18 September.

The Anglo-Dutch fleet, commanded by Admiral Sir George Rooke, was about to return from a failed attempt to capture Cadiz when Rooke learned that the Spanish fleet carrying treasure from the Americas, with its escort of French warships, had harbored in Vigo Bay. The battle was a major success for the English and the Dutch.

The south coast of Galicia is characterised by a series of bays and inlets known as the Rías Baixas and Vigo Bay is the southernmost and longest (approx. 33km) of these. It is in the province of Pontevedra and as well as the city of Vigo, along the shores of the bay we find other towns such as Redondela, Arcade, Moaña and Cangas do Morrazo.
