Villa Foscari is a villa in Mira, near Venice, northern Italy, designed by the Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. The home was constructed by Palladio for two patrician brothers. [ 1 ] It was built in the mid 1550s. [ 2 ]

Since its historical-artistic importance, this house has been registered in 1997 on the UNESCO list of World Heritage. On the visit of this masterpiece of architecture of renaissance, you will be accompanying by Ferigo Foscari, a descendant of one of the two brothers who asked to Andrea Palladio to built this house in 1554.

Villa Foscari is a patrician villa in Mira, near Venice, northern Italy, designed by the Italian architect Andrea Palladio. It is also known as La Malcontenta, a nickname which it received when the spouse of one of the Foscaris was locked up in the house because she allegedly didn't live up to her conjugal duty.

The most romantic Brenta villa, the Palladio-designed, Unesco-listed Villa Foscari (built 1555–60) got its nickname La Malcontenta from a grande dame of the Foscari clan who was reputedly exiled here for cheating on her husband – though these bright, highly sociable salons hardly constitute a punishment.

Villa FOSCARI known as “ LA MALCONTENTA” is the only one built by the famous architect Palladio along the Riviera del Brenta. It’s situated in the municipality of Malcontenta, near Mira and it still preserves the original architecture facing the waters of the Brenta River.
