A monument to Kristijonas Donelaitis made of glass plastic was created by sculptor Konstantinas Bogdanas in the crypt of Vilnius University to commemorate the 250 th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The name of the poet is written on the pedestal, along with the dates of his birth and death, and when the monument was erected.

On 11 November, Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy received a special gift - the largest coin replica in Lithuania, created by Vilnius Puronas. It is a sculpture of a 145-centimeter coin, which replicates the 1-cent coin created by Lithuanian sculptor and jeweler Victor David Brener and minted in the USA in 1909.

Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA) is a State University of the Republic of Lithuania, that offers study programmes in all three study cycles in the areas of art, design, architecture, and art theory and history. The Academy consists of four campuses, situated in the cities of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Telšiai, with a total of over 1800 students.

The colourful sculpture was recently installed near Vilnius University’s Life Sciences Centre as a tribute to the city’s scientists, including Prof. Virginijus Šikšnys, who has made significant contributions to the Nobel Prize-worthy gene scissors CRISPR-Cas9 technology.

Today, the museum holds collections of paintings, prints, medals, numismatics, manuscripts, sculptures, rare prints, and other books. The collections are related to the University and the history of Vilnius and the Lithuanian state.
