VirGL GPU could be faster if your hardware supports opengl, but doesn't necessarily mean better, because virgl needs to mature.

If virtio-gpu is implemented, it would be nice to see spice implemented as well since its more efficient than a VNC. 2020年4月15日 · you could use spice with virtio-gpu i guess, but you would have to put those things in the 'args' parameter but gl acceleration will not work, we do not compile our qemu against it also spice with gl acceleration (virgl/virglrenderer) only works (afaik) locally over a unix socket not over the network

2016年7月21日 · Change your in the Hardware tab of your guest VM, change the Display type to VirtIO-GPU, then start up the guest VM again and if your VirtIO drivers are not installed, then install them and try seeing if your resolution improves or manually change it. I was able to get options all the way up to 2560x1600.

2019年12月17日 · I discovered that virtio gpu used by proxmox is actually virtio-vga (the two are different, so they perhaps should fix the naming to avoid confusion) I then changed it to virtio-vga-gl which is supported in qemu using custom args flags, but got a no opengl support error, and since I am busy had to stop there, but might come back to this.
