2023年2月3日 · Designed in large, open laboratory environments, VLEST will contain highly functional, flexible and efficient wet chemistry research labs and optics research labs, including a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy suite, that will serve researchers in both Penn Engineering and Penn Arts & Sciences (SAS).

VLEST is designed around flexible, state-of-the-art laboratory spaces that provide the infrastructure needed to advance the ground-breaking research being pursued by our faculty. Considerations such as optimizing air flow, maintaining safe environments for people, and driving down energy usage are given special emphasis.

2023年3月15日 · VLEST, located at 32nd and Walnut Streets, will provide space for the activities of Penn’s top energy scientists and serve as the home for critical initiatives in energy research and education, accelerating the pace of scientific advances and forging the path to urgently needed solutions.

2025年1月15日 · The Daily Pennsylvanian obtained exclusive access to tour VLEST, exploring its research laboratories, interior design, and sustainable features. Held on Dec. 12, the opening ceremony included a tribute to Roy and Diana Vagelos, honoring their transformative contributions to the university.

This newly-constructed, state-of-the-art laboratory serves as the home of the Vagelos Institute for Energy Science and Technology and the Vagelos Integrated Program in Energy Research.
