The ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (VLPFC) is a section of the prefrontal cortex located on the inferior frontal gyrus, bounded superiorly by the inferior frontal sulcus and inferiorly by the lateral sulcus.

Ventrolateral prefrontal cortex refers to a region in the frontal lobes of the brain that is associated with inhibiting responses and selecting appropriate responses to achieve goals. It is involved in tasks such as reappraisal and suppression of emotions, as well as implicit emotion regulation.
