2023年8月25日 · VMRXX and VMFXX look like the same fund and since VMRXX's average 7-day SEC yield is slightly higher than VMFXX's yield (5.28% vs. 5.27%, as of 8/24), I don't know why one would put money into VMFXX. I live in Tennessee, which doesn't have a state income tax, so I assume that has no impact on which fund I choose.

My question is - is there any significant difference in state tax because of the repurchase agreements and non-treasury? i.e. will my state (Illinois) tax VUSXX differently from VMFXX?

2024年1月25日 · Why does Vanguard provide that percentage in a supplement with the 1099 Consolidated statement for most funds but not VMFXX? They do publish it elsewhere. And the answer to that has nothing to do with any 50% rule that a few states have, as they do provide that information for funds that have even less than 1% in U.S. government obligations.

2022年9月14日 · VMFXX yield has jumped after each of the last few Fed rate increases, then VUSXX gradually has caught up. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens again after the next Fed increase. The speculation is that the big VMFXX jump is because of the large percentage of repurchase agreements it holds, since the rates reset quickly (daily?) on these.
