The 1966 US Vox catalog described the V221 Phantom XII guitar as follows: "Unique Phantom 12-string design; ebony finger board; nickel-silver frets; exclusive 2-way string damper; 6 individual string bridges, true spring action vibrato."

One of the all-time great "posing" guitars, the vaguely trapezoidal Vox Phantom XII is still utterly distinctive and an instant 1960s classic. This Stereo 12-string is one of the more obscure variations, and certainly unmistakable! Like most Vox-branded instruments sold in the US, this one was built at the Eko factory in Recanati, Italy.
