The W15TCC were the first of its kind and proved very efficient in service with the Batteries Antichar Automotrices (BACA) n°51 to 61 of the 11th RA and the 305e RA2 10th battery. Despite their numerous kills however they could do little to reverse the situation an at the end of june, all had been lost in action or abandoned.

The Laffly W15T was a low-profile version of the S15T. It was made by Hotchkiss and was used to tow the 47 mm Model 1931 anti-tank gun. The ambulance version was named S15C. W-15 TCC (Chasseur de char, "tank hunter") - self-propelled 47mm SA mle 1937 anti-tank gun produced in haste in mid-1940.

The Hotchkiss W15T were given a more powerful 2,300 cc Hotchkiss 486 petrol engine, reaching 55 hp at 3,300 rpm. However since produced needed time to ramp up, by December 1939, the Ministry of Armaments decided to order 1,440 more from Citroën, then 1,650, deliverable within six months, from April 1940.

They were built in the late interwar as a light artillery tractor, used by French forces during World War II. But also declined into specific variants such as the S15R personal carrier, the low-profile W15T, the S15C ambulance, the W15 TCC tank hunter and its armoured sub-variant prototype of 1940 as well as the S15 TOE colonial armoured car.

It did not enter production until mid 1940, when the French military situation was already quite desperate.

The Laffly W15T (T being short for tracteur) was a 6x6 artillery tractor use to tow the 47 SA 37 anti-tank gun. After the start of the war, it was realised that a self-propelled mount for the 47mm mle 37 anti-tank gun was required.
