WM No. 81 | B&O Railroad Museum
The Western Maryland Railway acquired two BL-2 locomotives, the WM No. 81 and the WM No. 82, in 1948. They were the only BL-2 type locomotives ever purchased by the WM. The switchers were used to pull freight trains along the WM mainline until 1968, when they were both assigned to the Hagerstown hump yard.

Located at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum. Its sister (#82) is still active in West Virginia on an excursion line. WM 81 (BL2) also numbered as WM 7181 (BL2). You can see WM 138-T (Built from Alco S1 #102) behind WM 81. Too many shots of #81? I happen to like the Western Maryland--especially the BL2--besides, the sun was out for a change!

WM BL2 7181 Hagerstown, MD | A trip to the eastern US back i
1978年8月2日 · A trip to the eastern US back in 1978 yielded quite a few nice catches, including this "love it or hate it" Western Maryland BL2 coming back into the yard at Hagestown, MD. What was neat was that this wasn't the first railroad we saw that had BL2's.
