WM 25 was the first of a batch of GP-9 locomotives that received the "Hagerstown Chop Job" where the short hood was shortened and the locomotive rebuilt. Western Maryland "Chop-job" GP-9 sits alongside a former Long Island caboose at Barton, MD. The trackage is former Western Maryland and is now Ihe Georges Creek RR.

Western Maryland GP-9s Class DS-24,25,27 Red, White & Black Paint. Western Maryland purchased 21 GP-9s between May 1954 and June 1957. These engines were delivered in the black and gold paint scheme and over time 9 units were repainted to the red, white, and black scheme. All units had their short hood chopped down for better visability.

WM GP9 31 and RS-2 184 at Port Covington, Baltimore, MD on November 19, 1969. The GP9 was built in September 1955 and traded to EMD in 1980. The RS-2 was built in April 1950 and sold for scrap January 1969.
