Of all the ways the WSL is blowing it, the WSL needs to be ... - Reddit
2022年4月15日 · Every year I watch approximately zero minutes of any WSL surf comp unmuted, and then tune into Da Hui for like 45 minutes to be reassured that the vestigial Hawaiian surf mafia is still copacetic. it's always like, "Ya know Rocky, that's Kai Lannister's grandson, Kenneth. Oh ya I know we used to have Kenneth and his brothers over for lunch.
Discussion: is the WSL good or bad for surfing on the whole?
2020年10月20日 · WSL is GOOD for surfing's performance progression. WSL is BAD for surfing as a whole - we can thank the Australians for that. Surfing is not a sport but a wilderness endeavor similar to rock climbing. The surf sport culture spoils the line-up, the coastline, the quality of life in the water. Hawaii and its culture is at the core of surfing.
WSL recommended distribution? : r/bashonubuntuonwindows
Ubuntu might be the only distro that takes WSL seriously. They even maintain several packages made only for WSL. It was my 21st birthday and I felt like I was dying the entire time from the night before. They were finishing rides right in front of us though and the crowd was hyped.
UFC exec Joe Carr new WSL CEO : r/surfing - Reddit
There are countless surfers that could fill that role. People who are actually passionate about being in the water. Wsl is a cash grab by corporate America. No one I surf with gives a fuck about them and we all mock the organization openly. We respect talent in the water, but the WSL is …
WSL event in Brazil is necessary evil : r/surfing - Reddit
If the conditions sucks that is a great way to test the surfers just as Italo just did. In the end of the day people just like to badmouth Brazilians. I get it, surf culture in australia, usa etc is huge, but is also huge in another parts of the world, more diversity of waves, styles, competitors is great
Anyone else feel 100% disconnected from the WSL at this point?
The top brass at the WSL is a caricature and tone-def, they refuse to change the format to something that is actually exciting and scalable, the waves are pretty mediocre, and they along with sponsors have turned what used to be some of the most interesting "athletes" into the most boring and vanilla individuals I can imagine.
