One of the most successful of the high-scoring Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwader during World War 2, JG 54 'Grünherz' (Green Hearts) was formed from three disparate fighter 'Gruppen' immediately prior to the Battle of Britain.

The actual colors of the dark camouflaged JG 54 aircraft on the Eastern Front remain a matter of controversy. In an attempt to shine some light into this darkness I have written this treatise.
