For over a half century, the 60 kHz carrier from WWVB has served as a popular and highly respected frequency reference among many scientific, research, and engineering professionals across North America. As GPS-disciplined frequency standards started gaining in popularity, the use of WWVB in frequency reference applications began to decline.
