The Wari (Spanish: Huari) were a Middle Horizon civilization that flourished in the south-central Andes and coastal area of modern-day Peru, from about 500 to 1000 AD. [1] Wari, as the former capital city was called, is located 11 km (6.8 mi) north-east of the modern city of Ayacucho, Peru.

2015年1月18日 · The Wari culture was first identified in the 1930s after the Peruvian archaeologist Julio C. Tello uncovered an ancient city in 1931 near the modern city of Ayacucho, Peru. Tello called this culture the Wari after the name of the site he uncovered, which he later concluded to be their capital city.
