The Webley was produced in six different “Marks”, starting in 1887. The majority of the guns in service were the Mk IV in .38/200 and Mk VI in .455.

The Webley saw production through a variety of Marks in both .455 and .38/200 chamberings, but the basic action remained the same.

The Webley .455 revolver, also known as the Webley Top-Break Revolver and designated in Marks from I to VI served the British military until 1932 when they officially rendered obsolete with the adoption of the .38 caliber Enfield No.2 Mk I revolver.
