The WeeFIM® was developed by the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDS MR) in 1987 by a multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, and therapists. It was first described in the literature by Msall and colleagues who examined the WeeFIM® in typically developing children (Msall et al. 1994a)
