Professor Wei Lu is the James R. Mellor Professor of Engineering, and Professor in EECS with joint appointment in MSE at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Wei Lu is Professor in ME Department at U-M, and Director of Advanced Battery Coalition for Drivetrains. He uses multi-scale and multi-physics modeling to address problems related to materials and energy, such as electrochemical-mechanical-thermal modeling of batteries.

My group works on energy storage and electrochemistry; machine learning; simulation of nano/microstructure evolution; mechanics in nano/micro systems; advanced manufacturing; mechanical properties and performance of advanced materials and relation to microstructures.
