They printed the cashiers check on the spot and from there we drove to her bank, which unfortunately happens to be Wells Fargo, which, as we all know, has a less than stellar reputation, when it comes to consumer banking.

A bank is allowed to hold a check or cashier's check until the money clears; that is to protect the bank to ensure the funds actually clear and arrive at the bank. I googled wells fargo auto contact which was different so I was super sus. The customer service rep said it was legit.
