2015年10月27日 · Re: Wet sanding and polishing single stage paint job. If you want to make life easier on yourself you can finish out with 3000. M105 will cut through those sanding marks easier. I believe it's been posted that M100 with microfiber cutting pads on a dual action polisher can remove 3000 marks. You will have to search to be sure.

2009年2月23日 · On Saturday I worked on an 80s pickup with single stage metallic paint. I had read on here previously that SS metallic can be hard to get to look right because of the metal flake. I clayed the hood, used 105 on wool for 3 passes then used M80 on rotary and by hand. Here are some pics of how it turned out.

2011年12月28日 · I recently painted my 72 Skylark a midnight blue with Single Stage paint. Overall it looks nice, with the exception of the Orange Peel throughout the paint job. What I did so far (only on the trunk lid, as a trial) was I wet sanded it with 2500 grit paper. After Wet-sanding, my midnight blue color car was a powder blue color.

2016年12月1日 · I just finished sanding out the run, and it seems to be very soft single-stage paint. I got the run out within a minute by hand sanding (extremely gently) with just 2000 grit. It's left me a nice dull spot now, but I guess it's a good opportunity to test the pads and compounds I already have and see how far they get.

2008年5月18日 · Meguiar's #00 Hi-Tech Wash is the preferred wash for wet sanding, though I am sure you could use Gold Class as mentioned above. I use the #00 both in the bucket for the paper as well as in a squirt bottle (soap/water mix) for spraying while sanding. Tim

2011年8月31日 · Re: Wet Sanding a scratch Correcting any below surface defect (water spot, oxidation, swirl marks, scratches, etc.) requires removal of small amount of paint. Type of defect and hardness of your car's paint will determine how to safely and effectively deal with them.
