In Greek mythology, Medusa (/ mɪˈdjuːzə, - sə /; Ancient Greek: Μέδουσα, romanized: Médousa, lit. 'guardian, protectress'), [a] also called Gorgo (Ancient Greek: Γοργώ) [b] or the Gorgon, was one of the three Gorgons.
