2021年12月26日 · 1. Right-click the app with the generic icon in the Taskbar. 2. Right-click the app in the pop-up. 3. Click the "Properties" option. 4. Click "Change Icon..." in the app's Properties menu on the Shortcut tab. 5. Select the app icon you prefer. (There may only be one option.) 6. Click OK. This worked and seemed to fix it even after reboot.

2022年9月6日 · I have the issue where whenever I restart the taskbar icon cache looses track of the icons and puts generic ones in place. The work around I have is to delete the icon cache, restart, then open, unpin and re-pin each of the failing icons.

2024年3月7日 · I'm not sure how this happened but most of my icons in the taskbar are showing up generic like this. I have googled and searched for solutions but none have worked so far. DEL /A /Q "%localappdata%\IconCache.db" says this is not found when I run it. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…) In Task Manager, Restart file explorer.

2024年2月11日 · Several days ago, two of my taskbar icons (non-windows programs) were changed to generic Windows one. This morning, a third icon (Pale Moon browser) was also changed to generic one. Trying to change them in Properties does nothing.

2021年11月30日 · The Windows 11 does not recognize some icons on taskbar. So far as I know, in a properly operating Windows 11 System, all icons related to installed apps are known. It is possible there is a an installation error or other error, but if all is working all icons are known. You can try replacing the icon on the task bar to see if that fixes the issue.
