WJSV, first bought by the Morris School District in 1971, generally broadcasts Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm while school is in session. WJSV's main transmitter is located at Mountain Way School in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Currently, the station is completely run by members and an executive staff composed totally of students.

2014年12月31日 · WJSV's call letters once belonged to another radio station that went on the air in 1928. The original WJSV was located in Mt Vernon Hills,Virginia (and in conflicting data Alexandria, or Washington DC) on the dial at 1460 AM (FM broadcast wasn't viable until 1946).

On September 21, 1939, radio station WJSV in Washington, D.C. made an audio recording of its entire 19-hour broadcast day. This undertaking was a collaboration between the station and the National Archives, and it was the first time that such a comprehensive recording of a radio broadcast had been made.

2011年2月28日 · Thursday, September 21st, 1939, radio station WJSV in Washington, D.C., recorded their entire broadcast day -- from sign on, to sign off. This was before the advent of magnetic recording tape, so transcription disks were used. The overall quality of these disk recordings is good to excellent, except for a few spots of noticeable distortion.

WJSV is a student-run FM radio station in Morristown, New Jersey. The station purchased by the Morris School District in 1971. This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of WJSV radio and the students who have been broadcasting!! WJSV FM is run by students of Morristown High School on the air and behind the scenes.

Radio station WJSV, now WTOP in Washington, DC, has had a long and sometimes checkered history. The station, then bearing the call letters WTRC, signed on the air for the first time from Brooklyn, New York, on September 25, 1926.

When I was in high school, I was painfully shy and knew I needed to do something about it. On February 22, 1971, Morristown High School began operating a radio station with the call letters WJSV --all of ten watts strong. A companion cable TV 'station' was also in operation.
