2004年6月9日 · It was the suggestion of the Merchant Marine that a scroll should be introduced for those who died in WW2. The Merchant Marine first made the proposal in September 1939. In October 1939, a War Office committee approved the idea - subject to approval by the King.

The Next of Kin Memorial Plaque is a bronze plaque approximately 11 cms or 4½ inches diameter with the name of someone who died serving with the British and Empire forces in the First World War. This was issued to the Next of Kin of the casualty along with the scroll.

This is a very nice original 2671st Special Reconnaissance Battalion scroll patch on felt. The patch is in nice condition, but does have some residue on the back. This is a hard patch to find these days.

2011年9月6日 · Two hundred and six thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven scrolls have been completed and dispatched. It is estimated that a further eighteen months will be required to complete distribution of the scrolls.
