Wilmington and Western 98 is a preserved 4-4-0 "American" type steam locomotive built in January 1909 by the American Locomotive Company's Schenectady Works for the Mississippi Central, it is now preserved and operated by the Wilmington and Western Railroad.

She worked in passenger service on the Mississippi Central before being retired in December 1944. Paulsen Spence purchased No. 98 in 1947 for the Comite Southern, and later the Louisiana Eastern.

4 天之前 · No.98 along with No.58 will be out on June 24, on public display around 11am. Both engines will NOT be steaming, but towed over to Greenbank Station by a SW-1. The engines will be a back drop, while the W&W recieves a large check from the state, to start the rebuilding efforts up to the first washed out trestle.

W&W #98 crosses Faulkland Rd. and is about to duck beneath a canopy of green along the creek. 98 backs across the Red Clay creek bridge. This was a week before the flooding-I wonder how it looks now. 98 pauses momentarily to drop off a few passengers in the woods. 98 & 58 smoke it up to great effect.
