This surprised and disappointed me, because just before signing up, I read a glowing review of Comcast’s XB7 which was described as being quieter, faster, more reliable, more range, and more Ethernet ports than the old XB6. My question is, should I send it back and ask for a XB7? Or is the XB6 sufficient for my 600Mbps plan?

2020年10月28日 · I have a 3500 sq. ft. two-story home, and have gig speed service with the XB7 in my study at one end of the first floor. While the XB7 gave me coverage throughout the house, it dropped off considerably on the other side of the second floor, sometimes to as little as 8-10Mbps.

2022年7月15日 · Also unless it is some region thing we do not see WiFi 6 only 2.4/5ghz on the Xb7. The Xb6 never had WiFi 6. The XB7 was supposed to have 6 and we have never had the open to select it let alone separate it under 10.0.0.1 or thru the Xfinity app. I have had the 8 for a month now and the 7 for the last two years and no WiFi 6 with the Xb7

2021年1月30日 · It might be hard to find someone going from the Technicolor XB6 to the XB7. The switch would have to be just for Wi-Fi 6 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet as well as additional 1 Gbps ports. Otherwise, modem performance should be identical. EDIT: 5 GHz Wi-Fi is a bit of a downgrade. It's 2x2 (2.4 GHz) / 8x8 (5 GHz) [XB6] vs. 4x4 (2.4 GHz) / 4x4 (5 GHz) [XB7].

I understand wanting to receive an XB7 or an XB8 wireless gateway as they are our newest wireless gateways. The XB6 supports up to 1 Gb speeds. The XB6 would have been sent due to the speed tier you are currently subscribed to. The XB7 and XB8 are shipped when customers are subscribed to our higher speed tiers.

2021年1月23日 · This is the same on the XB7 as on the XB6 as I only have a 1Gb network card in the computer. Comcast just upgraded me for free to xFi Complete, and I am now on 1.2Gb plan. Running the app it actually tests out at ~1.4Gb, but I am still getting the same 940-950Mb on my computer due to the card.

2024年6月25日 · XB7 does not have WiFi 6E (6GHz), Xfinity assigns Gateways, based on which speed tier you have. You can go down to the Xfinity store, and ask them to exchange it. But there's no guarantee there going to give a XB8. Or you can put the XB7 in bridge mode, and connect your own WiFi 6E router.
