The Heckler & Koch XM8 is a lightweight assault rifle system developed from the late 1990s to early 2000s. The rifle was designed by German small arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K), and shares design and engineering with their G36 rifle .

Yeah obviously, but what is a XM8 (especially the compact model) doing in Iraq? Based on the uniforms its probably '06 or earlier. So my guess is some high speed unit was testing them out, and these guys wanted a picture with it. That's definitely a possibility.

2015年5月7日 · The contractor in the photo is Chris Neidrich, a US Navy veteran who was killed in June 2004 in Baghdad while working for CIS World Services. As far as I know this is the only photo of an XM-8 present in Iraq.
