2021年11月3日 · No clue what region you are in or what band your 5000 is, but I can tell you my experiences for East Tennessee. VHF and UHF portables at 5 or 4 watts around 3 miles is definitely a great success, but more regularly 1.5 miles is what I’d call the comfort zone.

2020年4月9日 · Only in Band (for obvious reasons), XTS is not a dual band like the Yeasu. Yes you can mix and match PL and DCS and program non standard splits, no plus and minus repeater shifts like a hammy radio. (well technically there is one exception when it comes trunking).

Very true, but maybe the OP might want to look at the XTS2500 which is the same quality radio in a small and less expensive package if he is in the market to buy one.

I mapped out all of the channels and talkgroups from an 838 used it as a guide to build a codeplug from scratch for the 5000's and loaded it into one of the radios....

2017年6月7日 · Well the XTS2500 is newer than the 5000. The 2500 is still supported for another two years however Motorola does not produce 2500s or 5000s anymore. The 2500 comes in 4meg or 8meg versions (AN or BN models).
