Xaro Xhoan Daxos is a powerful merchant prince of the great city of Qarth born on the Summer Isles, located far to the south of the Dothraki Sea, beyond the Red Waste. He is a member of the Thirteen, an organization that rules over Qarth. He claims that he was married once, but his wife died. [1] He boasts of being the wealthiest man in Qarth. [2]

In the television adaptation, Game of Thrones, Xaro is an immigrant Summer Islander. He has black skin, thinning hair, and a beard. Xaro seeks to become the King of Qarth, in a coup where he kills his fellow Thirteen—the ruling council of Qarth—and assists Pyat Pree in stealing Daenerys's dragons.

On television, he is known for his roles as Xaro Xhoan Daxos in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2012), R.M. Renfield on the Sky series Dracula (2013), Abraham Kenyatta on the CBS series Zoo (2015–2017), and Tommy Jepperd on the Netflix series Sweet Tooth (2021–2024).

Xaro sails to Meereen with a fleet of thirteen galleys, and men to pull the oars, to gift to Daenerys so that she can sail home to Westeros. The queen believes Xaro convinced each of his fellow members of the Thirteen to give up one ship.
