My background is a daily Preonic user, with only a short experience as a 60% user coming from full size. My main motivation for getting it was to further improve upon the good Preonic ergonomics (by further relaxing wrist angle).

2017年7月24日 · If you get one of the cases that the seller has specifically for the XD75RE you won't need a plate (it comes built in with those). If you want to put in in another case you'll want the standalone plate though. You will also need to get switches; and yeah it has Kailh hot-swappable socket so no soldering for the switches at all.

2017年9月11日 · The arrow cluster looks uncomfortable and i dont know why you went with 2x 2u spaces. My recommendation is, just try your layout a while and as soon as you notice something doesnt feel right, just move it.

2020年9月26日 · It was good but not great. I wanted to push the limit of my keyboard experience, so I built my first mechanical keyboard based on ortholinear XD75RE chip. The main purpose of Universal Layout was logical arrangement of similar symbols (e.g. ' " ` or / | \) in one place and to preserve positions of symbols in both English and Russian layouts.

It will mostly fit, but not perfectly. The hotswap components of the xd75re will sit on top of some of the standoffs for the screws so part of the board sits higher than the rest. If you’re looking for that high profile look where you can’t see the switches, you will need to make some adjustments. Here’s what I’m talking about.
