Mar 7, 2020 · XDRE is now unmaintained, but DSDA-Doom is being constantly improved and is receiving additional features. Certain benefits being unique to XDRE will disappear over time and XDRE will likely eventually become a functionally inferior choice, but it will remain a valid and acceptable option if you do still wish to use it.

Be aware, my system language is set to German and the German text above roughly translates to "Show original format".

Jun 22, 2015 · I got XDRE to work for some part, but the xdre.ini file I found via the readme doesn't seem to hold all the right commands. For example I can't figure out how to enter that I wanna strafe to a side.... Also is it normal that the "Set keys..." option is greyed out when I click Options at the top? May 1, 2017 · I was a beginner too. Am still quite newb actually (when I first ran XDRE a black window popped up... however I thought for a while that XDRE isn't working on my computer). I got lots of help from ViTa and SWDude and since then pretty much no problems with XDRE. :) Yeah, something like a tutorial would be awesome indeed!

Jan 10, 2016 · My XDRE folder is filled with demo junk, no idea which one is actually required to run XDRE. What about sorting the files by either date or file suffix, that should help you identify core files, because they're probably the oldest files in the folder and aren't .lmp.

Jan 15, 2020 · As far as I know you can't start xdre without it loading a wad, and if you double click xdre.exe with doom2.wad in the same folder, it should open it automatically, but to be sure, drag doom2.wad onto xdre.exe and the program will start using Doom 2. …

Jan 29, 2022 · In general, i think it would be great if there will be a DSDA-XDRE build available considering the scope of DSDA-Doom itself. It only seems natural that for TASes, you use the same codebase as the port that focuses on demo's heavily (Similar to how DRE/XDRE use a modified PrBoom build because PrBoom was/is heavily used for demo's).
