As ike2/ipsec uses much more cpu and haven’t got any documentation about ike2 so openvpn is the only hope. 4a is the cheapest router that i can get RN in my local market thats why I wanna be sure if openvpn client will properly work on xiaomi 4a gigabit or not.

Same thing happens with the Mi Box. Users are waiting years for updates but Xiaomi doesn't really care for fixing bugs as they don't have any ad revenue there. Going back to phones, I'm using the Redmi note 7 with PE rom and seems like it will be my last Xiaomi phone.

I came from Samsung which was my favourite brand but their battery were a problem (in the past ofc, when I purchased my first Xiaomi, a Redmi A4 of 2017 which works great too, sometimes I use of because one app, Huawei Printer, only works there, idk why.
