The star HD 173416 is named Xihe (羲和). The name was selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Nanjing, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Xihe is the goddess of the sun in the Chinese mythology and also represents the earliest astronomers and developers

2019年12月23日 · The first exoplanet discovered by Chinese astronomers and its host star have been named "Wangshu" and "Xihe," which mean moon goddess and sun goddess respectively in Chinese mythology.

Xihe is a white to yellow star in the constellation of Lyra. It can be seen in the northern hemisphere night sky. Xihe distance from Earth is 454.90 light years away.

The constellation contains six formally named stars. The star names approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) are Aladfar, Sheliak, Sulafat, Vega, Xihe, and Chasoň. Lyra contains two Messier objects – Messier 56 (M56, NGC 6779) and Messier 57 (M57, NGC 6720, Ring Nebula) – and has nine stars with known planets.
