Xu started as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Emory University School of Medicine in April 2022. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa in 2014, integrating X-ray crystallography and solution NMR to study the role of conformational dynamics in protein-ligand interactions.

Dr. Xu Liu joined Computer Science Department of North Carolina State University in August 2020. Before joining NCSU, Dr. Liu has been working as an assistant professor at The College of William and Mary since August 2014. He received Ph.D. from Rice University in 2014, working with Dr. John Mellor-Crummey.

I am currently a postdoc researcher in the Wallin Group at MIT DMSE. My Ph.D. research during my time at Cornell and at Meta Reality Labs centered around regulating ionic transport in soft systems, namely, flow batteries and gel ionotronics.
