2021年8月20日 · So then I started Ys VIII. I have only gotten through the Prologue at this point, but it has told me a lot about how Ys V fits in. However, it also made realize perhaps Ys V isn't 100% canon, or at least the SFC version isn't. This is what I concluded: Ys V SFC is canon because: Dogi mentions they both just left Xandria, where Ys V takes place.

2021年7月1日 · I'm really hoping that the next Ys game is a remake of V, but considering how coy Kondo plays it with what the next remake is gonna be, who knows if they'll actually go through with it. I have noticed that it's a rare case where Japanese and Western Falcom fans seem to be aligned -- we both want a proper remake.

2021年8月19日 · Ys V has interesting lore and characters, but these latter in particular are hardly developed until the final section of the game. The game is mostly focused on action, so I have to accept that until the final part where the story finally starts involving the characters and getting interesting, I didn’t even remember who exactly everyone was.

2022年10月11日 · Ys V was my first Ys game actually lol. I agree it's hated on too much, while it isn't the best of the series it's still definitely a fun little title. Plus I love the Zelda fighting system more than the bump system anyway. While the other Ys games I played later on were better, Ys V isn't a bad game just a flawed one.

Ys 5 is the only title thats never been remade for outside japan release. So unless you fluent in japanese and own super famicon you gotta wait. Also, you shouldnt play them in order, even falcom says so.

2021年1月15日 · Ys V is only available on SFC and PS2 in Japanese, and the PS2 version is practically lost to history. Seems like nobody ever references that. It has a fan translation on SFC but it's considered a weak Ys entry. If you want something really weird that's not considered good at all, there's the DS version of I & II.
