YSS of Marshall County partnered with the Marshalltown Police Department to launch a community outreach program called MPACT (Marshalltown Police and Community Team). The program dispatches YSS social workers to accompany police officers on calls involving mental illness, family conflict, substance use, and emotional/behavioral situations.

Earlier this year, YSS of Marshall County partnered with the Marshalltown Police Department to launch a community outreach program called MPACT (Marshalltown Police and Community Team). The program has been so successful, it received national attention and was recently awarded a $206,000 grant from the Department of Justice.

What is MPACT? MPACT (Marshalltown Police and Community Team) is an intervention program providing service within the city of Marshalltown. The service is a collaboration between the Marshalltown Police Department and YSS of Marshall County.
