Professor Lei Ye is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decisions, Operations and Technology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. She received her PhD in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, MPhil in Economics from CUHK, and BA in Economics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Lei Ye is leading a research group studying multifunctional polymers and biointerfaces. The main research interests are molecular recognition materials, artificial enzymes, and applications of synthetic materials in bioseparation and bioanalytical sciences.

Research and Teaching Interests: Cardiac tissue engineering, Stem cell biology, Gene and cell therapy, Type 2 diabetes. Office Hours: By appointment. Education: Dr. Ye graduated with a medical degree from the Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China in 1996.

In 2010, Dr. Ye began in his first faculty position as assistant professor in the University of Minnesota’s Department of Medicine, where he worked with Dr. Zhang in many cardiovascular research projects. In 2014, he returned to the National University of Singapore. In 2022, he rejoined Zhang lab at UAB.
