I am a historian of modern China. My teaching and research interests focus on the history of information, material culture, and digital humanities. At its core, my work explores how information technologies – from paper archives to AI tools – change what knowledge is, how it is made and used, and to whom it belongs.

During my Ph.D., I studied the assembly of mammalian Apaf-1 apoptosome and the activation of cell-killing caspases involved in the onset of intrinsic apoptosis using single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), as well as biochemical and genetic methods. I joined the Lu lab as a postdoctoral fellow in 2017.
