1210 is a preserved former New South Wales Government Railways Z12 class steam locomotive. Built in 1878 by Beyer, Peacock & Company, England, it is preserved at the Canberra Railway Museum.

The Z12 class (formerly C79 and C80 class) was the first class of locomotive on the New South Wales Government Railways to be built in relatively large numbers. They hauled all express passenger and mail trains for some 20 years.

In May 1914 the locomotive hauled the first train into Camberra. In 1924 the locomotive class was changed to Z12 and at the same time the number the locomotive carried was changed from 120 to 1210. The first members of the class were withdrawn from service in 1957.

Highly unusual image. The leading locomotive (1210) only ran with this livery between 1955, when it was repainted for the NSWGR centenary, and January 1962, when it was placed on static display in Canberra. It still exists, although it is currently disassembled.
